Enzogenol

What is Enzogenol?

Enzogenol is a strong new formulation of antioxidants from the bark of selected Pinus radiata. Recently, pine bark has been found as containing the most comprehensive complex of natural antioxidants. The manufacturers of Enzogenol have established an innovative processing technology to combine all of those antioxidants in a capsule in exactly the same ratios as are present in the tree's bark.

The History of Enzogenol

It has been found a number of substances that fight against active oxygen till now. Oligo phenolic compound (OPSC) which biochemical researchers have achieved isolation from pine bark in 1950 had been known as most powerful antioxidant. Also oligo phenolic compound extract from a certain kind of pine bark in France had been accepted chemically in the front line of biochemical researches for a long time. This was considered to be the most powerful antioxidant, French pine bark Pycnogenol until now. Dr. Kelvin Duncan, B.Sc., PhD. et al had doubts regarding the way of collection that might lead to forest destruction and extraction that was used chemical solution. They had been done a number of researches to find better antioxidants. In the middle of 1990, they finally acieved to the extraction and found more effective oligo phenolic compound and named Enzogenol.

Powerful Antioxidan

According to some studies, Enzogenol has effectiveness more than 20 times of vitamin C and 50 times of vitamin E. Enzogenol enhances the biologically active of vitamin C and E and protects blood vessels in body and cell damages due to active oxygen, also protects skin from damages (aging) or inflammation. According to the several clinical studies, antioxidants slow aging speed and reduce risk of cancer, heart diseased and cerebral thrombosis, also improve symptoms such as arthritis, atopic eczema and hay fever.

Antioxidant Effects

Antioxidant effects inhibit free radical such as active oxygen and protect organism. Active oxygen is originally necessary for our body, they are produced when leukocytes kill foreign matters. However if active oxygen produced excessively, it causes negative influences such as oxidization of various substances such as DNA, protein and lipid in body and giving damage.
These become factor that promotes cancer, arterial sclerosis, adult diseases and aging. However we originally have enzyme such as SOD(superoxide kismutase) that inhibits active oxygen. This is also called scvenger because it catches and changes active oxygen to nontoxic, and excrete from the body. It is getting difficult to produce SOD enzyme after 40 years old. SOD enzyme becomes less and less with our ages. On the contrary, active oxygen in the body increases, and then the risk of cancer and adult diseases gets higher.
Therefore we have to intake more SOD food as we get older.
